Another night of global revival last Friday night at World Revival Church, airing live to over 200 nations through the “umph” of Daystar’s satellites, plus our live streaming from Kansas City that goes out to the world. How can I describe the feeling of coming from being a small-town pastor (532 people) to a position of speaking to millions? It’s mind-boggling at the very least, and extremely humbling at the most.
Our call center had some technical difficulties at the beginning of the evening (our local internet server had been down earlier in the day). Kathy must have had a wardrobe malfunction or something before we went live (not sure what took her so long to join me on stage!), but otherwise, the night went smoothly!
Families were the focus and I think we really hit on a chord with that. So many Christian families need saving… I think it’s a real sign of the status of the church – which is why we need revival.
Kathy and I are doing everything to steward this opportunity well. Every week we take home THOUSANDS of prayer requests that come in through these revival services.
Kathy keeps these in a nifty rattan trunk in our living room and it’s 2/3’s filled with just January’s prayer requests. She’s already got me moving furniture to make room for a second chest of some sort. I’ve got to tell you, it’s added a whole new dimension to our home life to have the heart cries of people from all over the world in our hands.
I feel like our World Revival Church congregation has taken on the weightiness of this, too. People talk a lot about “going to another level” but nobody really tells us what that means. I know for us, it’s meant taking on more responsibility for what happens in the world and with God’s kingdom.
Yours for revival – Steve
If you want to see what I mean about our church body taking this on, here’s a brief video that shows them praying over those prayer requests. World Revival Church prays for thousands.
