I just finished speaking at our World Revival Network’s pastor luncheon. What a privilege to share my thoughts with so many ministry leaders from all over the city. We are being knit together to become a strong force here in the Heartland of America.
What is the number one problem these leaders, and others around the country, are facing? Is it the politicians or the economy or lack of church attendees and finances? No. THE problem that must be solved is two-fold: First, people in our churches are not getting better, and second, American churches are making zero impact on our society.
Why is that? As a profession, ministers rank near the top of the list as the most insecure and fearful of all. When you mix in the pride and arrogance that runs rampant in church leaders along with all that fear and insecurity, our church leaders are only able to produce cleaner, carnal folks, not powerful Christians.
What’s the answer? If you are a leader, here is your assignment: to become changed. No, not your church people, but YOU must be changed! Ministry growth only occurs AFTER personal growth. Be willing to make changes to advance the cause.
Something must happen to you. You can and must be filled to the full measure with all God is. How do you do that? Spend a lot of time decreasing yourself and magnifying the Lord. As you focus on getting free of yourself and full of God’s measure, you will begin to be transformed. Then you will become part of the Church that God will show His manifold wisdom and intentions through.
