God’s biblical patterns will produce a genuine revival move when followed. During the Burn Conference this weekend, I shared about what hinders people from following these patterns.
Pastors, leaders, and all believers need to be aware of and avoid at all costs these Revival Stop Signs:
1. Religious status quo cowards lead us. Some continue to promise revival but the truth is they don’t intend to change anything.
2. Men with worldly appetites feed us. They desire worldly things and use manipulation to get what they want while trying to feed the people of God.
3. When people talk about the things of God, there’s interest but no indignation. Godly indignation doesn’t mean you’re angry, but something rises up in you to follow God’s word and do what’s right for the good of the people.
4. Believing, but not branding! Religion says it’s okay not to be branded with the identity of Christ. Instead, it compromises as it works to indentify peoples’ needs. There is no branding of itself with revival and the power of God.
5. Jealousy and Apathy. People are eaten up with jealousy of those who do things for God, while doing nothing themselves for God. Seats are empty because people don’t care.
If these things have stopped revival in your life then you will be encouraged to know they are fixable. However, you must get the cowardice out of yourself first and be willing to confront these stop signs. This may apply to you personally or you may need to confront these things within your sphere of influence. Be willing to follow the patterns of God and if you don’t know them, find someone who it’s working for and follow their example.
