He may live down under, but it doesn’t stop him from being an “over the top” friend! Let me tell you why. Ever since the first year of Smithton Community Church in 1984, Col has not only maintained our friendship, but will often take time away from pastoring a revival hungry congregation to come and minister at World Revival Church.
All of this and Col still has time to be a bestselling Australian author and an exemplary family man. Col is a rare treasure as he is really a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Faithful friendships and relationships like this one can be extremely valuable in spreading revival around the world. Through this relationship, Kathy and I have had opportunity to take the revival message to Australia. Guess what we found there? Hunger! I ministered at a pastor’s conference down under a few years ago. One pastor wanted the presence of God so badly; he literally ran up to me in the middle of a message, picked me up by my lapels and said in a desperate voice, “I have to get what you got!” The whole place exploded and pastors thrust themselves towards the altar desperate for the presence of God.
Competition in ministry needs to be eliminated! Revival is desperately needed among ministers so they can work together and be for each other. Unfortunately, often “rivalry” is promoted instead of “revival.” The saddest result of all of this is who pays the price! The people in the churches end up missing out on life changing encounters. This should never happen!
Thank God for friends like Col Stringer!
