Every Friday night for the past year, I have had the opportunity to not only speak to our congregation at World Revival Church, but also our Daystar audience. I approach those nights with the intent that it could possibly be my last night to speak to this group of people. Why? Because I don’t fear what man thinks and I don’t preach to be popular. In other words, I don’t whitewash the Word of God!
Last Friday night, I struck a nerve with a few when I said, “I have news for all you cupcake preachers out there; there is no such thing as backsliders in heaven. Either you’re a backslider or you’re a Christian, but you can’t be both.” That night the phone lines lit up. The majority of the people called in with repentant hearts wanting to make their lives right with God. The great news of all this is God wants to cure us of our backsliding ways. He somehow did it for us in Smithton as we started going after His presence. When His presence touched us, we wanted to cry out for Him to cure us.
But, there were a few callers who must have been part of a fictitious congregation of “backslidden Christians” who were not very happy with this message. They want nothing to do with the cure and want to continue giving their lives to idols. I like to think they are part of the wandering church that wants everything from God but also wants everything from the world. These so-called Christians bring revelation of how sick the body of Christ really is.
In spite of those few who are comfortable in their corrupt religion, Daystar services will continue on to reach out to those who are looking for life. God is doing something big in America through our relationship with Daystar. He is trying to reach as many people as possible and bring them to a place of true repentance so they can experience the God who wants to set them free of their backslidden ways.
