Well, the election is over and I am not sure what kind of leader our new president will be, but there is one thing I do know for sure, he is a celebrity. In fact, it is clear that he is more of a celebrity than a politician. Change is the new word. I only wish that American’s would call for as much change in religion as they have in politics. That “old time religion” has a much greater grip on society than any of our politicians or political parties. No matter who is elected, religion in America is controlling the hearts and minds of millions of people. Change, how nice if it were really true. I think you will find that unless disaster strikes, and it might, that nothing really changes, especially in religion. Part of the problem is that those up to their necks in religion don’t really care enough about it to want change. Religious apathy may end up being the greatest sin of this generation. We, the church folks, are a people far from God, but we don’t care as long as the economy holds out and nobody tells us what to do. We are content.
There are two things you can be sure of, terrorism and taxes. Terrorism will tax our new president to see what he is made of and higher taxes will test us to see what we are made of. Mark the date you read this because you can be sure that both are coming.
Talk soon,
